Beginning this month, this site will no longer be updated for awhile, probably for a few months. There are some other interesting, and related, projects in the works which require my time. HISTEMI will stay online however and will be reinvigorated in conjunction with these other projects when they are complete.
Thank you for your support. Soli Deo gloria!
Sorry for the delay in a new posting. I upgraded the blog software that this site runs on and want to make sure everything is kosher. Please e-mail me using the contact form as usual if you find that anything breaks.
Update: after some jiggery-pokery, everything looks to have converted properly. But still, let me know if anything crops up.
The contact link has not been working for a few weeks and I just now found this error and fixed it. My apologies for any inconveniences. It has been tested and is now working again. I took the opportunity to implement some security fixes as well.
The blogging software on which this site is run was upgraded Sunday night to the latest version. I hope this will add security and back-end functionality, as well as make future changes easier. All of the articles from the last year and the template converted well, with only one or two small glitches.
Older permalinks that you have should correctly link to older articles, but there's a chance that they won't work. I apologize for any inconvenience, but this upgrade was necessary. Please e-mail me using the contact button at the top right if anything doesn't work properly, including old links, and I will fix the issue or send you a new link to replace the old one, as appropriate.
I have recently received a few comments to which I would have liked to respond but was unable. No one is required to enter an e-mail address when sending me comments or criticisms of any kind, so this is just a reminder that if you would like a response, you will need to include a valid e-mail address so that I can get back to you.
God always knows who writes to me, but I don't. :)
Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been having some computer problems. I expect to be updating again within the week.
06/16 update: the computer and internet connection are functional again, and I appreciate your patience. Expect a fun doctrinal topic to be posted later this evening.
My apologies for the slow-coming updates as of late. Being out of town for the holidays is a convenient excuse, but the fact of the matter is that my last doctrines article entitled Creationism: How Old Is The Earth clearly demonstrated to me that a better presentation style is in order. After waiting a few days, I found it difficult to follow myself! So before the next article is posted, I will come up with an easier-to-read methodology for doctrine and opinion articles. I will also go back and edit the previous articles to fit the new style, and will do my absolute best not to remove any information presented therein as I update the layout.
In better news, a mod for b2evolution (this software) has been released which adds some functionality to make it very difficult for an automated script to post spam comments to the articles. I will attempt to get this installed and working by the end of the year(ish) and then enable comments for discussion on the articles.
After a 90 day probationary period, I'm happy to see that this site gets plenty of traffic, mostly via search engines, which is perfect for now. If other sites link to this in the future, all the better; but in the meantime the information here is for those who look for it. I pray constantly that this site will somehow glorify God, and if it is by Him leading people here through web searches as they attempt to discover truth, so be it.
Welcome to my site. The purpose of this site is to communicate my thoughts on Christianity and the teachings of the Bible. I will cover topics which don't get alot of media coverage (and why I think they don't), as well as topics that do. I will cover "basic" topics such as salvation and sin and more advanced topics such as dispensationalism and canonicity. And I will definitely spend a good amount of time on some pet topics of modern Christians, including abortion, creation, and political activism.
Stay tuned. First thing's first: get rid of the default skin. :)
update: Well I've got a basic layout that I like and which works both in Mozilla and IE. You can't ask for anything more than that, these days. I will not be enabling comments, to prevent spam problems. When I have a chance, I will set up a forum software so that each post will point to its own discussion thread. You can e-mail the author/administrator of this site by using the "contact" link on the top right, also built to prevent spam problems.
Expect an opening/intro posting shortly which will more fully discuss what I intend to do here.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:11-12
